The Rev. Dr. Christopher Simpson Answers Call at St. Mary's in Big Spring
Diocesan News
In June, the Rev. Dr. Christopher Simpson became the rector of St. Mary-the-Virgin Episcopal Church in Big Spring, TX. Below, please find a greeting for the diocese from Fr. Christopher:
I’m Fr Christopher Simpson. At the end of May, my wife, my daughter, and I moved to Big Spring for me to begin a new cure as Rector at St Mary’s in Big Spring. We moved from Lincoln, Illinois where I was the rector of Trinity Episcopal Church. Before going into the priesthood, I had a career in academics: I was Professor of Philosophical Theology at Lincoln Christian University (in Lincoln, IL) for fifteen years. I’ve done some publishing in academic theology and philosophy including a textbook on modern Christian theology—creatively entitled, Modern Christian Theology.
My wife, Kaysha, is a Texan, and we lived in eastern New Mexico when we were first married. We’ve always wanted to move back to this part of the country, and the position at St Mary’s was a fine opportunity to do just that. I hope to provide a consistent and stable priestly presence for the good people of St Mary’s.
