The Rev. David Huxley Scholarship Fund for Bi-Vocational Clergy was established in 2017 by the graduating class of the 2017–2018 School of Ordained Ministry (SOM) to honor the late Rev. David "Dave" Huxley (d. January 2026). Fr. Dave served as rector of St. Nicholas Episcopal Church in Midland and as a mentor to SOM students.

Fund Purpose & Benefits

• Target: Individuals called to ordained ministry facing financial obstacles in the Diocese of Northwest Texas.
• Coverage: Covers tuition, books, and travel for the three-year monthly SOM program.
• Impact: Has supported numerous bi-vocational students over the last eight years.

School of Ordained Ministry (SOM)

• Mission: Localized theological education and spiritual formation for priests and deacons unable to attend residential seminary.
• Curriculum: Based on the Iona School for Ministry (Diocese of Texas). Includes academic (Bible, Church History, Theology) and practical (Spirituality, Liturgy, Social Justice) tracks.
